MAYBE IT'S HIS HIS BRAIN THAT WAS LEFT BEHIND: This Tim LaHaye character, co-author of the wacky LEFT BEHIND fantasy series, is so nutty it's almost stupefying. I'm reading this article, and about every 15 seconds I'm thinking, "You've *got* to be freakin' kidding me!" Who takes this guy seriously? The answer: a whole fuckload of people do. Your neighbors. My neighbors. Our president? Dunno. I've never heard him weigh in, but it wouldn't suprise me.

Oh, and if Casey is reading, I'm dying to comment on his "boob police" post, but it says "LAUREL" is not a registered approved member of this something or another. Anyway, it won't let me post. Do I need a password now or something?

i have had people foisting la haye books on me since college. i mentioned a mild, morbid curiosity in the first one because it sounded like an interesting premise -- people suddenly disappearing into thin air, leaving the rest to fend for themselves sounds appealingly palahniukian in concept -- and the book was practically hurdled at me. i tried reading it but...

The ("pretribulation") rapture is the central feature of, and reason for, and foundation of "dispensationalism" - the sacred (cash) cow behind the bestfooling "Left Behind" authors. But the historical details about the long-hidden dirty linen is now coming out. To see it, go Googling and type in "Pretrib Rapture Diehards," "Thomas Ice (Bloopers)" (the "great researcher" LaHaye, Falwell etc. lean on!), "Appendix F: Thou Shalt Not Steal" (big-time plagiarism in writings by LaHaye, Falwell, Ryrie, Van Impe - following earlier pirating in works by Darby, Seiss, Bullinger, Lindsey, Unger, Jeremiah, Missler, Carlson etc.!)," and "Pretrib Hypocrisy" - just some of the scandals unearthed by historian Dave MacPherson who is more lied about and hated more by the same crooked rapturesellers than anyone else. Why do these "escape" artists focus so much on "what's just around the corner"? They want to draw attention away from the dishonesty in their 176-year-old rapture's history! Mack F.

You know, it's LaHaye's brand of fucking idiocy that creates many of the world's problems. If you believe as much crazy nonsense as that, it encourages hatred of other groups--really there's nothing wrong with killing millions, with enough faith. I'd like to bet with LaHaye, and if Jesus comes before LaHaye's tired ass dies of old age, I'll kiss his ass on the town square. (Periodically every member of one group of dumbasses or another sell their houses and take to the hills, then say, "uhhh...nevermind" when Jesus doesn't show.

Its always nice to see people make fun of any idea that is way above their understanding so they can make sure they never get a grasp of what SO MANY other people-including the guy that invented electricity-see so clearly, instead of trying to see if there might be truth in that idea. who am i fooling. Its always sad. If you go through your life insulting other people beliefs, first you will end up being one of the most shallow creatures to live then you will be completely ignorant of everything that TV doesnt feed you with. SAD indeed. About the end of days I have 3 words for you...WAIT N SEE.

I thought Jesus said he would come like a thief in the night, and that we would not know the day or the hour. I can't see how ANYTHING that humans do can speed up God's plan.

Oh, and something like blessed are the peacemakers.

Just my Catholic opinion.

It all comes down to do you believe in God, the bible, and Jesus? The bible is either totally accurate or not at all. There is no middle ground.
